Signs of grinding (bruxism)
Most people grind at night without knowing. Usually it's a partner who mentions it, or we spot the wear pattern at a check-up.
- Flattened, chipped or worn tooth edges
- Jaw ache or headaches in the morning
- Increased tooth sensitivity
- Cracked fillings or repeatedly failing restorations
- Clicking or tenderness in the jaw joint
Custom night guards
A night guard made from impressions of your own teeth fits properly, stays put and absorbs the load that would otherwise wear your teeth down. It protects existing crowns, veneers and fillings too — which is often the cheaper decision over a decade.
Snoring appliances
A mandibular advancement appliance holds the lower jaw slightly forward during sleep to help keep the airway open, which reduces snoring for many people.
Snoring can also be a sign of obstructive sleep apnoea, which is a medical condition requiring diagnosis by a doctor or sleep physician. If your history suggests it, we'll recommend you're assessed properly before an appliance is made.
