What your first visit looks like
If it's been six months or sixteen years, the first appointment is the same: we look, we explain, and you decide. No lectures and no pressure to book treatment on the day.

Step by step
1. Booking
Call (03) 8771 5805 or send an enquiry. Tell reception if you're anxious or if it's been a long time — we'll allow extra time.
2. Arriving
Park on site at the door. A short health history form takes a couple of minutes at reception, and we'll check your health fund or CDBS eligibility.
3. The examination
We look at the teeth, gums and soft tissues, including an oral cancer check, and take x-rays if they're due. Nothing happens without us explaining it first.
4. The conversation
We tell you what we found in plain language — what's urgent, what can wait, and what's fine to leave alone.
5. Your plan
Anything beyond routine care goes into a written plan with costs and a suggested order. You take it home. No decision is required on the day.
What to bring
- Your Medicare card (and your child's, for CDBS eligibility)
- Your private health fund card, for instant HICAPS claiming
- A list of any medications you take
- Details of any medical conditions or allergies
- The name of your previous dentist, if you'd like records transferred
- Any questions you'd like answered — write them down, they're easy to forget in the chair
If you're nervous
Dental anxiety is normal and we plan around it
A lot of adults avoid the dentist because of something that happened to them as a child. If that's you, tell us when you book. We'll book a longer appointment, explain each step before it happens, and stop the moment you ask us to.
You can also book a consultation with no treatment at all — just a look and a conversation — so the first visit is nothing more than sitting in a chair and talking.
