About the practice
What QIP accreditation means for you as a patient
Published 7 April 2026

QIP — Quality Innovation Performance — is an independent accreditation body. For a dental practice, accreditation means an external assessor has audited the practice against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
It isn't a marketing badge you can buy. It's a periodic audit with evidence required.
What gets examined
- Infection prevention and control, including sterilisation processes and record keeping
- Clinical governance and how the practice manages risk
- Patient records, consent processes and privacy
- Staff training, credentialing and scope of practice
- Incident reporting and how the practice responds when something goes wrong
- Emergency preparedness and equipment maintenance
Why it's worth asking about
Dental accreditation is voluntary in Australia. A practice choosing to be audited, and passing, tells you something verifiable about how it operates behind the scenes — which is exactly the part of a practice a patient can never see for themselves.
Endeavour Smiles Group is QIP accredited and has operated from the same Endeavour Hills address since 2008.
